Introduction to Fashion Sewing

This program focuses on sewing fashion apparel and is a good start for any teen that is a fashionista at heart. During this introductory 5 week course students will be educated in all the fundamental sewing techniques to start making their own apparel. Each level is designed to give students the opportunity to practice different sewing techniques related to all types of garments. Once started, students can continue to pursue this aspect of fashion construction, or start their training in Fashion Design

In this course, students will learn how to:
– Operate the sewing machine
– Take proper measurements and learn how to size accordingly
– Use commercial patterns
– Learn the varying characteristics of different fabrics
– Construct a garment (skirt or pants of your choice) from cut to finish

Keeping our class sizes small (max of 6 students) allows us to not only work with students as a group but also one-on-one in a safe, relaxed atmosphere where they feel free to express their own style through the art of fashion.
