Beginner Sewing Level 1

This is the perfect introductory course into the exciting world of machine sewing.

Beginner Sewing Level 1 has been designed to teach you the basic fundamentals of sewing. In this course you will be honing these skills while making a fuly lined tote bag with a zipper opening and front pocket. This project is designed to increase your level of comfort with the sewing machine and all the tools necessary.

You will learn:
– Threading the sewing machine
– basic sewing techniques
– various types of stitches
– basic zipper application
– working with sewing tools

*No prerequisites required for this course
*All materials are included.**

Beginner Sewing Level 2

*This is a continuation course to Beginner Sewing Level 1.
There is much more to sewing than just threading a machine and stitching straight lines.
Now that you have the basics you are ready for the next level! In this course students will learn to work with commercial patterns and the step by step instructions in putting your garment together.

You will learn:
– How to use commercial patterns
– How to take proper body measurements
– Sewing different types of fabrics
– Proper finishing techniques
– How to use a serger
– Reading patterns symbols and instructions
– Proper fabric cutting
– Fitting

Prerequisite for this course: Beginner Sewing Level 1 is required to register for level 2.


The project for this course will be simple pants or skirt. Students will have the opportunity to choose their style for the project.

Beginner sewing Level 3

This is a continuation from our Beginner sewing level 2. In this course, students will have the opportunity to learn new skills in garment sewing and practice the techniques they learned in level 2. The project for level 3 is a top. Students will be able to choose their style and fabric, with the guidance of the instructor. Our goal for this course is to help our students gain more confidence in their sewing abilities, so they can keep exploring other sewing projects on their own.

Some of the skills students will learn are :

  • darts

  • neckline finishing

  • basic sleeve

  • armhole finishing


The project for this course will be top. Students will have the opportunity to choose their style for the project.

Prerequisite for this course: Beginner Sewing Level 2 is required to register for level 3.

Garment Construcion

Garment construction — _not a beginner sewing class!_ This is an intermediate to advanced course for those who are ready to step up for their garment sewing skills and move beyond making pyjama pants. This course is hands on: Students will have the chance to grow their sewing knowledge and repertoire by making a garment of their choice from cut, to fitting, to finish. Students should choose a garment that involves some intermediate sewing techniques such as a collar, cuffs, or fly front. If you want help choosing a project, you can purchase your pattern with guidance from your instructor during your first class. The studio will be fully stocked with all major pattern brands. At the end of the course, students will have a well made and properly fitted garment they can wear proudly! However, please note that we can’t guarantee that all students will complete their project before the end of class since it depends on the student's speed and complexity of the garment.

THERE ARE NO MAKE UP CLASSES FOR this course.

Based on the complexity of the student’s chosen project, we cannot always guarnatee students will complete their projec durig the course time. However, we always will do our best.

Prerequisite for this course: Beginner Sewing Level 3 or garment construction is required to register for this course.
