Materials needed:
Canvas or heavy twill for the pouch. Big enough to cut the front and back. I would say 3/8 yard would do.
5/8 yard of ric rack
a small piece of burgundy cotton for the bacon strip
a small piece of white fleece for the egg white
a small piece of yellow fleece for the egg yoke
12” zipper
Cut 2 for the Zipper pouch front and back
Cut 2 for the bacon strip
Cut 1 egg white
Cut 1 egg yoke
Make the bacon strip
Stitch the strips together, 1/4” seam allowance
Turn the bacon inside out, and press flat
This is a fatty bacon strip, so stitch the rick rack on the strip.
Stitch the egg yoke on the egg white
It’s wise to finish the pouch edges first before sewing. If you have a serger, serge the edges. If don’t, just use your zigzag sttich.
Place the bacon strip on the good side of the fabric, stitch in place.
Stitch the eg on top of the bacon strip.
Time to stitch the zipper
Unzip the zipper. Place the zipper good side on top of the pouch. Pin in place.
Stitch the zipper. Make sure you use your zipper foot for this job.
Stitch the other side of the zipper to the pouch back.
Leave the zipper open half way.
Time to stitch the pouch front and back together.
Make sure the fabric good sides are facing together.
Stitch the 3 sides. 1/2” seam allowance.
You can now cut off the extra zipper end.
Turn the zipper pouch inside out, and press flat.
